Workshop Date: Oct 6th, 13:30, Santa Clara

We accepted great papers and are thus looking forward to an exciting workshop. We are also very glad to announce a thrilling invited talk by Peter Bailis, a leading researcher in distributed systems and databases from UC Berkley.

Scalable Cloud Data Management Workshop 2013

Co-located with the IEEE BigData Conference. Silicon Valley, October 6th 2013.

Call for Papers
The workshop starts on Sunday, 13:30 with an exciting Invited Talk by Peter Bailis. It will be followed by two sessions covering topics ranging from Cloud Data Management applications to Data Partitioning, SLA Management, NoSQL query langauges and Big Data analytics.

We solicit research on novel database designs and their distribution and storage mechanisms (NoSQL, NewSQL, Database-as-a-Service) as well as scalable data and data-processing services. The application side of cloud databases is equally important, as it might impose new programming models, APIs and web-enabled interfaces. The workshop will bring together cloud computing, data architectures and data-related services from the perspective of scalability and hopes for your contribution to this exciting new field.

Workshop News

Schedule and Program
September, 17

We created the exciting program and schedule for the SCDM workshop.

Last Extension
August, 1st

We granted a last extension to August 20. Given the short time frames imposed by the publication process, we will directly assign submissions for reviews as soon as they come in.

Final Call
July, 29th

The final call has been published. Papers can be submitted until July 31 (exact local time displayed in the submission system). We look forward to many great submissions.

Workshop Flyer
July, 10th

There is a PDF flyer available now. The deadline (July 17) is approaching so we are currently reposting the CFP. If you have the chance, it would be great if you could distribute the CFP, too.

Program Committee
April, 29th

We are proud to announce the SCDM 2013 Program Committee of most renowned experts of the field.

Website and Submission Site Online
April, 18th

This website is available at to provide details about the call for papers, the submission process and the workshop organization. The agenda and travel information will follow once the submission phase is finished.

The submission site is online, too. The conference website of the IEEE BigData 2013 can be found here.

Timeline of Important Dates
April, 18th

There now is a graphical timeline which will always contain all dates related to this workshop like submission deadline or workshop date and time.
